Centre Governance

The Centre for Coal Seam Gas is funded through a membership model, whereby organisations and individuals contribute a minimum of $500,000 per year for at least five years. The current member organisations are:

  • QGC - $2m per year
  • Arrow Energy - $500,000 per year
  • Santos - $500,000 per year

In addition to member funding, The University of Queensland has committed $1m per year over five years.

Members are represented on the Strategic Advisory Board (SAB), which provides advice on the Centre’s strategic direction. Members, along with UQ researchers and government representatives, are involved with the identification and development of projects that will be included in the Centre’s research program.

Members are aware that funding will be used for Centre administration, infrastructure, education and research. While they can provide input into possible research projects, the members cannot prevent a project from going ahead or ensure a project commences.
